FULL VOICE Student Workbook – Introductory Level

There are few actual voice curriculum available, so this one is very welcome. It is well researched with a good variety of age appropriate activities. The kids I teach really enjoy it. It’s a good balance of theory, writing activities & singing. The graduated levels make it easy to supplement pedagogically appropriate materials (or there are supplemental materials on the Full Voice website). Prior to using the Full Voice curriculum, everything I used was hodge-podge – it’s really nice to use this as the core of the lessons.

I have been using Full Voice resources with my junior primary students for the past couple of years and they absolutely LOVE it! A 7 year old student of mine with ASD has been excelling in his lessons lately. He learnt solfege using the flashcards, alongside the workbook and has been loving his Sight Singing Superhero exercises. I recently gave him Do Do Donuts to look at and he used everything he has learnt to sight sing the piece to me; he clapped out the rhythm, used solfege to work out the melody, put them together and added the lyrics, and sang it perfectly for me the first time!

As a private voice teacher I have looked for over a decade for a product like this to support my young singers in learning to sight-sing and read music. It combines creative opportunities into the curriculum, too. Useful for teaching beautiful pitch matching, note reading and even composition of melodies. I have only used the introductory level with students, so far. It is in a workbook format so each student requires their own copy to work through. I am very pleased with their reception of the materials and like what I’m discovering in the other levels in this series, expecting to continue as student progress. The authors are approachable and willing to communicate with teachers, and that’s a added bonus not found often. Students purchasing this book from Amazon, at my request, receive the order within the week between lessons, I am very pleased all aspects of this resource.

Full Voice Curriculum has been extremely beneficial for the voice program at our Music School. For years, we struggled to find the appropriate teaching materials for our vocal students. As a voice teacher, this book is awesome. It helps my beginners understand theory alongside with their voice.

This set of books plus the online materials on FullVoice.com have been invaluable in the children’s vocal music class I am teaching. The kids love the materials, and so do I.
